The Partner Country Program

Every three years at the Library Congress, the Federal Union of German Library Associations (Bibliothek und Information Deutschland, "BID") chooses a partner country that will be the focus of the association's international cooperation in the following years. The aim is to deepen professional relations between the two library countries in the long term. Professional visits, study trips, mutual participation in congresses and joint analog and digital events serve to get to know the library landscapes of the respective countries and their people and to exchange views on current professional topics.
