Data protection of personal data:
In addition to the general data protection policy, the following data protection principles apply to applicants:
A contract begins with the application, which has as its object the funding of the applicant in return for corresponding services. Personal data will be collected in accordance with Art. 6 DSGVO Para. (1) b (corresponding and fully compliant to the GDPR General Data Protection Regulation in the EU).
The purpose of this data is to enable contact with the applicant, to process the application in terms of administration and content and to create a history of of applicants in order to be able to process future applications.
For applications within all funding programmes for "International Librarians to Germany (AnD)" the data is used as follows:
The applicant fills in the form online and the completed application is signalled in the e-mail mailbox (Outlook). The evaluators directly access the application data in the system. After the review, the correspondence for further processing takes place.
Completed processes are archived by the system for the reasons given above.
When participating at the German Library Conference, the names, the country of origin, the institution and the e-mail addresses are used to prepare events, meetings and receptions and to provide information or issue invitations.
Every applicant has the right to have his/her personal data deleted in accordance with Art. 17 DSGVO. This is done in accordance with Art. 17 DSGVO para. (1) a.
The employees and experts of both BII and GI are bound to secrecy and fully respect the data privacy regulations within the EU. The data will only be passed on to the extent necessary to fulfil the contract and the respective purpose. The data will only be stored to the extent and for the period necessary for the performance of BII's tasks.
